It’s everyone’s dream, right? Lose weight by eating cookies. Of course, it’s not that simple. The “cookies” are more like rounder lower calorie Power Bars or Luna Bars. They contain whole wheat, bran, rice, oats, natural fiber, proteins and other substances. There is also some secret formula of amino acids that will help suppress the appetite. The plan calls for eating 6 cookies a day, to be eaten not as meals, but whenever you are hungry and a dinner of read food, consisting of some lean protein and a cup of vegetables. Participants are encouraged to take vitamin supplements, and drink 8 glasses of liquid a day, including coffee and tea.

There are tons of different cookie diets available right now, Dr Siegel’s Cookie Diet, Hollywood cookie diet, Smart for Life Cookie Diet and more – but they all work basically the same way. The main different seems to be the flavors offered. Most have oatmeal raisin and chocolate chip. Others add peanut butter and coconut to the list. But don’t expect these cookies to taste like well… cookies.
.
The most important thing to know about the cookie diet is that if you follow it strictly, you’ll be consuming less than 1,000 calories a day. That’s very low. Which is fine, if you’re careful, and don’t plan to use this as a long term diet plan. And if you are especially active, you may want to talk to your doctor about trying it at all. Sanford Siegal is the doctor who created the cookie diet, which used to only be available in his clinics.

Reports from people who have used the cookie diet are mixed. Most reveal that the first days are very difficult, as your body readjusts to your new eating habits. Most sites claim that people who stick to the plan will lose an average of 15 pounds a month, depending on their starting weight. If you are looking to get soem quick weight loss, and think you can handle a very low calorie diet, the cookie diet is probably worth trying. But, make sure you’ve got the cash, these cookies aren’t cheap. We found prices from $50-$80 per week.
